TwitrPix on Mashable’s Top 10 Twitter Photo Sharing Services

// November 13th, 2009 // No Comments » // Development, TwitrPix

Today marks a very important milestone since TwitrPix was quietly released into the wild earlier this year. While we have been extremely busy adding new features and functionality not present in competing services, we just saw a Facebook post that really surprised us. A recent vote by the readers of Mashable, the internet’s most respected voice in Web 2.0 & Social Media news, has placed TwitrPix on a very special list — Top 10 Twitter Photo Sharing Services.

What makes this list really amazing is that Mashable’s readers have voted it above other sites which are more popular. Although we did come in 10th place, we here at Cando can’t really complain. We are definitely in some very good company and appreciate all of the support Mashable’s readers and especially our TwitrPix users have been.

tuneinTune In is a web-based Twitter application that let’s you visualize your tweets by integrating inline viewing methods such as image previews without having to click a link. The TwitrPix API has been integrated which will show you TwitrPix thumbnails inline to the tweets. This is a great feature and allows you to essentially tune-in to your tweets. Besides photos, you can also see screenshots of web sites and video thumbnails of links referenced both from the public stream or from “channels” you set up to help isolate any noise.

TwitrPix Express for Firefox — Goes Public

// September 28th, 2009 // 1 Comment » // TwitrPix

Just got word from the good folks at Mozilla that the TwitrPix Express for Firefox addon has finally hit “public” status. When the addon was submitted to Mozilla, it had to go through a review process which are done by volunteers who have donated their time (ed note: if you have Firefox or JS development skills, please consider volunteering). After a few weeks and some bug tweaks, the addon became officially “public.” No longer will users see “Experimental” — the scarlet letter has been removed.

What makes this really important is that there are no other photo sharing sites for Twitter except TwitrPix with their own Firefox browser addon. Not only does this show our commitment to really letting users share media the way THEY want to, but it also shows our commitment to looking at Firefox as a platform for growth.

Give TwitrPix Express for Firefox a try. We’d love to hear your feedback.
